Ryan Trask

Owner / SEO
Ryan founded 3plains providing web development and software applications to other developers. Through the years, Ryan changed 3plains from a software and hosting company, to a full service design and online marketing company servicing the outdoor industry. Ryan heads up the development, oversees the business strategy of Trask Companies, LLC and continues developing the 3plains products. Read more

Derek Harwood

Project Coordinator / Content Specialist
Derek is the 3plains General Manager, Project Coordinator and Photographer. Derek is one you will most likely talk to on the phone from the initial phone call, all the way through project completion. Derek get's things done and ensures the quality of 3plains products upon delivering to the client. Read more

Justin Clifton

Lead Designer
Justin is the driving force behind much of the design here at 3plains. Justin works with 3plains customers, our project coordinator and 3plains other designers to ship our design projects. Zach Semago

SEO Specialist
Zach is first and foremost a passionate fisherman, but he also makes a living in internet marketing. At 3plains, he is our Search Engine Optimization (SEO) expert. He currently works full time as an SEO at a fortune 500 company managing very competitive search engine campaigns for multiple clients. Read more

Accounting / Administration
Behind the scenes we need a person that attention to details and keeps the books straight; That's Alison. She is familiar to hunting and fishing, so she's not just a number cruncher.

3plains History

2002 - 3plains started in Sioux Falls SD, as Trask Website Software & Hosting, providing web development, hosting and software applications to other developers. The company started after a college website project for Ryan's mom's business.
2003 - 3plains found it's first client (Buffalo Butte Ranch) at the 1st Annual Pheasants Forever trade show in Minneapolis, MN.
2004 - 2006 - Ryan worked part time building outdoor industry releated websites, moved home to Minnesota and changed the business name to 3plains.
2007 - Ryan quit his full time software development day job and focused on 3plains as a full time job.
2008 - Ryan started developing a client base and built UltimatePheasantHunting.com as his first advertising website.
2009 - Justin Clifton started with 3plains to head up design.
2010 - 3plains grew to 5 full time employees and 2 contractors.
2011 - Ryan restructured the staff and brought back only Justin Clifton.
2012 - 3plains Site Manager was overhauled and a few new 3plains contractors joined the team.
2013 - Continuing to update the 3plains Site Manager software as well as the UltimateOutdoorNetwork.com.

Interesting 3plains Facts

3plains has always been soley owned by Ryan Trask.
The 3plains name was acquired from an old contractor who Ryan Trask used to work with.
Justin Clifton grew up 5 blocks from Ryan Trask and they connected over 13 years later on Facebook.
Derek Harwood was a former 3plains customer before joining the team.

Since 2010, 3plains has sponsored 1 boat for the Paralyzed Veterans of America North Central Chapter Walleye Fishing Event in Chamberlain/Oacoma, South Dakota. In 2012 we decided to sponsor 2 boats.

3plains has been members of Pheasants Forever since 2007 and have donated our time toward several local chapters in the Twin Cities area. We discount Pheasants Forever websites 30%.
